DLR Station 'moves' at the weekend

An extraordinary feat of engineering on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) has effectively moved a whole station without any disruption to passengers.
South Quay station closed on Friday evening and a state-of-the-art replacement opened this morning 125 metres away, after being tested over the weekend.

First London 2012 DLR carriage reaches the starting line

DLR scoops London Transport Award

Docklands Light Railway (DLR) has won the 'Cycling Improvements' London Transport Award for its cycle shelter at Shadwell station. The shelter was introduced last year as part of DLR's cycling strategy, which aims to encourage passengers to cycle to stations and continue their journey via the railway.

DLR signals latest phase of Woolwich Arsenal Extension

Docklands Light Railway (DLR), part of Transport for London (TfL), today began the preparatory work for the tunnelling that will form the 2.5km, £180m Woolwich Arsenal extension.

A state-of-the-art 540-tonne boring machine was lowered into a launch chamber in North Woolwich in preparation for construction of the rail link, which will run at depths of up to 35m under the River Thames.

DLR Signs Contract For Extension To Woolwich Arsenal

Docklands Light Railway Ltd (DLRL), part of Transport for London (TfL), has today finalised the contract with the appointed concessionaire for the construction of the Extension to Woolwich Arsenal. The project forms part of TfL's five-year investment programme through a 30 year concession contract with Woolwich Arsenal Rail Enterprises (WARE), a consortium formed by AMEC and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The planned extension of the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to Stratford International took an important step forward today as the TfL Board approved plans for DLR to submit an application for a Transport and Works Act (TWA) Order.

DLR Public Inquiry closes.

The Public Inquiry into Docklands Light Railway's plans to significantly improve capacity by upgrading to a three-car service between Bank and Lewisham was closed by the Independent Inspector on 29 March following an adjournment on 3 March. The £125 million project, funded by Transport for London's five-year £10 billion Investment Programme, includes procurement of 18 new vehicles, expansion of the depot at Beckton and construction of a new station at South Quay.
