Since work began in 2003 to bid for the 2012 Games, the DLR was always part of the transport network serving the Olympic Park in Stratford. But as work on the bid progressed to include venues like ExCeL, Greenwich Park and the Royal Artillery Barracks it became clear the DLR would be central to connecting these venues with each other and interchanges to central London.
