Docklands Light Railway - Stratford International Extension

DLR awarded the two main civil contracts to build the Stratford International extension to a Skanska GrantRail joint venture (SGRJV). The two contracts, known as Package 8 and Package 6, were awarded to SGRJV in January 2007 and June 2007 respectively.
The Stratford International Extension involves the following works:
- The conversion of the former North London Line (NLL) between Canning Town and Stratford to DLR operation
- The construction of four new stations
- Refurbishment of three stations which interface with London Underground Lines (LUL); and
- Interface with a new signalling installation construction
A separate £39 million contract comprising the enabling work included:
- The provision of a new station terminus for Network Rail (NLL)
- Track slew of High Meads Loop freight line
- Construction of Stratford International Station box; and
- Construction of the extension shall be complete by mid 2010
