Docklands Light Railway - Langdon Park
Situated between All Saints and Devons Road stations on the DLR route to Stratford, this new DLR station provides much-needed access to public transport for thousands of Tower Hamlets residents and local businesses. Langdon Park station is adjacent to both Langdon Park and Langdon Park School to the east and the planned new residential development off Chrisp Street to the west. Chrisp Street now connects directly into Hay Currie Street to the east and Carmen Street in the west via the station's pedestrian footbridge.
The station was designed in consultation with the local community and has sought to reflect the desire for a modern, transparent and landmark station. The platform canopies use innovative materials to maximise natural light onto the platforms.
The bridge has been re-designed to improve access, safety and visibility offering open views of the wider area. The lift towers have been integrated with the bridge to act as beacons in the landscape and includes glass panels protected by aluminium louvres for greater visibility. The station also accommodates cycle parking and as part of DLR's public arts programme, public art installations will be fitted at the station this winter.
