As part of DLR’s Yourailway programme, the area under Gallions Reach DLR station has undergone a series of environmental enhancements.Aims
- Refurbish the lower station concourse area
- Improve the pedestrian environment with new paving, improved levels, landscaping and provision of a new cycle shelter
- Complement the wider urban realm improvements being undertaken in the area
The works
The enhancements have been undertaken in partnership with the London Development Agency who are coordinating a series of works in the area. The enhancement works will entail:
- Improved drainage and levels in the area
- New high quality paving
- New cycle shelter incorporating public art and photo voltaic (solar) panels
- New boundaries and fencelines
- Additional CCTV cameras
