Docklands Light Railway - Cycle Strategy
Skip to navigationAt a number of key stations it is intended to provide cycle hubs. The aim of these is to provide more than just cycle parking. Each cycle hub will have a cycle shelter which has been designed for DLR and will include solar panels for lighting and public art. The first of these shelters will be delivered at Shadwell and Gallions Reach in spring 2008. Events such as bike breakfasts including cycle servicing and security advise will be organised at cycle hubs.
The next priority for the strategy will be to deliver cycle parking at stations which do not currently have any facilities including the route between Poplar and Stratford. It is also intended to deliver a further two cycle hubs later in 2008. It is anticipated that the project will take three years to complete.
Transport for London
DLR, as part of its cycle strategy is aiming to provide high quality, consistent cycle parking at all of its stations. This will include a minimum of five stands at each station which will be covered by CCTV. The first stations to receive improved cycle parking will be on the London City Airport Extension and these will be delivered in spring 2008.
