Docklands Light Railway - Shadwell Platform Access

  • The number of passengers using Shadwell station has increased since improvements to the DLR concourse and the interchange with London Overground was opened. The Shadwell Access Project has provided an additional set of stairs from the concourse to platforms.

  • Background

    The DLR station at Shadwell has benefitted from a number of improvements in recent years. A new interchange with the Overground station has seen a steady increase in the number of people using the station. The need to increase the capacity of station access was identified and options considered to deliver this. An additional set of stairs has been delivered utilising an unused escalator shaft. 

  • What Next

    Options for increasing the capacity of the station by providing additional stair access are being assessed.
