Docklands Light Railway - Beckton Line Improvements

  • The Beckton line serves a growing residential community along with ExCeL, the University for East London and Newham Dockside. Introducing 3-car trains will provide additional capacity to support growing numbers of passengers. Further improvements are planned at stations to support new development, more information can be found here.

  • Background

    The Beckton Line Improvements project will update the stations on the Beckton line ahead of the 2012 Games and provide increased station capacity at Custom House by installing escalators.

  • What Next

    Work to update the signage at stations will be complete ahead of three-car train operation beginning on the line.
