In 2008 the area around Gallions Reach station was refurbished in partnership with the
London Development Agency. The work included:
- Refurbish the lower station concourse area
- Improve the pedestrian environment with new paving, improved levels, landscaping and provision of a new cycle shelter
- Complement the wider urban realm improvements being undertaken in the area
